Hand made

The  Paris Haute Couture spring/summer 2011 is a unique insight into each designer's creative thought processes. Each haute couture collection has a distinct personality and style.  The choice of themes during the 20 showings during the last days of january is bewildering. Haute couture is about hand-craft, whether it be the 400,000 pearls embroidered on a pair of Chanel skinny trousers or the dozens of tiny pleats pressed by hand into the bodice of a Valentino gown.

Valentino spring 2011 couture
Maria Chiara Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli translated the romantic, feminine heritage of Valentino into a dreamworld of sheer chiffon, semi-transparent silk tulle and cascades of ruffles, tiers and pleats.

Chanel spring 2011 couture
Flat shoes, layered proportions, skinny leggings and pastels.

Christian Dior spring 2011 couture

These full of magic and charm photographs were taken by Schohaja at the Paris Haute Couture 2011.

Armani Prive spring 2011 couture
Giorgio Armani took inspiration from the multi-facetted cut of precious stones for a sculpted, space-age silhouette in his Privé collection.
